Chief of the Youth and Sport Section at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO)
Alexander Schischlik is currently Chief of UNESCO’s Youth and Sports Section. Born in Austria, Alexander holds a Master degree in Economics and a Doctorate in Law from the University of Vienna. He started his career in the insurance business, based in Buenos Aires, and then moved on to manage international projects in music production and artists promotion working in Vienna and Brussels. Alexander joined UNESCO in 1993, where he has been overseeing international programs in a number of fields, including music and the arts, cultural industries and human rights. He has responsibility for the sports portfolio since 2012 and the youth portfolio since 2014.
