Continuation of Part III: The role of various state bodies and institutions, as well as civil society in ensuring respect, protection and observing of human rights with a goal to achieve SDGs.

Goal: To present and discuss specific mechanisms, tools and approaches that are used by different state authorities and institutions to respect, protect and fulfil human rights with a goal of achieving the SDGs, in close cooperation and broad engagement with the civil society in the decision making and consultation processes.  

09.00- 11.00 

Thematic Working Groups:

Within the frameworks of each group, discussions of the key role of the civil society in all of SDG processes will take place. In particular, participants will be able to share best practices and propose specific mechanisms and forms of civil society participation in decision-making processes.

Participants will need to develop concrete proposals for strengthening the cooperation of civil society with relevant state bodies and national human rights institutions, in order to achieve SDGs.

Further, the moderator will present the draft of the relevant part of the Declaration (Outcome document) of the Forum on the role of the executive, judicial and legislative branches and NHRIs in ensuring the respect, protection and fulfilment of human rights in order to achieve SDGs, in close cooperation with civil society. During the discussion, participants will adjust the relevant parts of the declaration.
