Coordinator for Central Asia for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Chief of the Mission in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Prior to that he served IOM as Chief of Mission in Belarus and as Programme Manager in Ukraine and Serbia.
Besides his work for IOM, he has extensive experience in migration-related field projects dealing with migration and development, counter trafficking and assistance to migrants, labour migration, migration and health, disaster preparedness and conflict prevention.
Positions he has held include Assistant Commissioner in the Serbian Commissariat for Refugees and Human Rights Lawyer and Coordinator for the Swiss Agency for Development and the Corporation Network of Humanitarian Law Offices in Serbia and Montenegro.
He has worked for Catholic Relief Services, and was a programme manager for Refugees and IDPS in Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. By education he is a lawyer and holds two Master’s degrees, one from Belgrade University and another from Oxford University. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Russian East European Eurasian Studies Centre (REEES) at Graz University.
