Dr. Meder Omurzakov is International Program Coordinator in Almaty office of UNFPA Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Office. Meder has a rich professional experience in development and humanitarian programs. His expertise includes advocacy and policy dialogue, strategic planning, resource mobilization, strategic partnerships, monitoring and evaluations of programs and projects in the areas of sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, youth, population and development. Meder worked in UNFPA Kyrgyzstan country office from 2010 to 2020 as Assistant Presentative/Head of the Office. Prior joining UNFPA, Meder worked as a National Program Officer in the WHO country office, a Program Manager in the NGO “Project HOPE” and a surgeon in the National Surgical Center in Kyrgyzstan. Meder holds a Medical Doctor degree from the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute and a Master's Degree in Health Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, the USA.
