The badge "For the protection of human rights" was handed over to its owners

On December 6, 2022, in the city of Samarkand, within the framework of the Global Forum "Education in the field of human rights", the awarding ceremony of the "For the protection of human rights" badge was held. The director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akmal Saidov opened the event with an introduction.

The badge "For the protection of human rights" was established in 2020 at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The purpose of this is to provide material and moral encouragement and award to citizens and organizations that have made a great contribution to the protection of human rights and freedoms, to popularize the example of those who are examples in the implementation of this activity, and their experience.

The badge is given for the service in human rights protection, activity in the human rights promotion, human rights education, and contribution to the development of traditions of human rights protection among young people, significant achievement in the development and management of organizations that protect human rights, effective scientific activity on human rights of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons, as well as organizations operating in the field of human rights protection, can be awarded the "For the Protection of Human Rights" badge.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Every year on the eve of the International Human Rights Day, December 10, the badge and its certificate are ceremonially presented. This year, 6 compatriots, 2 foreign citizens and 2 non-governmental non-profit organizations received this award. In particular:

  • Marat Hadjimukhamedov, the first deputy director of the "Social Opinion" republican public opinion research center - his worthy contribution to the formation of modern research practice in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms;
  • Jamshidjon Choriev, head of the Surkhandarya regional office of the Youth Affairs Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan - effective activity in protecting the rights of young people;
  • Hamidulla Premkulov, Head of the Legal Department of the Office of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan - his activity in protecting the labor rights and socio-economic interests of the population;
  • Society of Disabled Persons of Uzbekistan - activity in social protection of persons with disabilities;
  • Oliya Ilmuradova, director of the Social and Enlightenment Center "Sustainable Life" - many years of effective work in protecting the rights of women and children;
  • Shahnoza Ikramova, head of "UMNICHKA" non-state educational institution - active participation in protection of children's rights;
  • Creative Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan - contribution to the protection of the rights, honor and dignity, legal rights and interests of journalists;
  • Govkherjn Yuldasheva, professor of the Department of International Law and Human Rights of the Tashkent State Law University - educational and scientific activities in the field of human rights protection;
  • Rein Mullerson, honorary professor of the Academy of Management, Law and Society, Tallinn University - international cooperation, scientific and educational work in the field of human rights;
  • Ryzsard Komenda, head of the regional office of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Central Asia, was awarded this award for his international cooperation in the field of protection and provision of human rights.

Akmal Saidov, director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, presented the badge "For the protection of human rights" to its owners.

For information: in 2020-2021, 12 non-governmental non-profit organizations and their representatives, 8 employees of state organizations and higher education institutions, 8 representatives of international and foreign organizations were awarded the "For the Protection of Human Rights" badge.
